E-learning and online instructors have an enormous array of assessment tools available for online learning. To maximize the learning experience, choosing the most appropriate assessment tools available to achieve the desired learning outcomes is key. How does the instructor select the right assessment tool (s) that can measure attitudes and perceptions, collaboration, comprehension, behavior patterns, work samples and so on? It is important to research and discover the best tools available that will achieve those desired learning outcomes and provide interactive learning activities to engage learners.
Our team consists of three members who have cooperatively worked together to develop an online assessment resource toolbox that can be used by instructors as they work on design, delivery, and evaluation of their courses. Each team member selected one tool from four categories of assessment tools - peer-to-peer collaborations, reflection, course tracking, and quizzes/exam builders.
As you navigate through our toolbox, you will find that each member introduces and explores the use & benefits of tool, challenges & weaknesses, application examples, and how it connects a learning objective with assessment tool. You can read our team summary for this toolkit by clicking this link or you can go to the page titled "team summary". Assessment resources toolbox has the potential to continuously grow through developing technologies and cooperation between online instructors to share resources within the global, teaching community.
